New York City – food and drink

One of my trip highlights was our awesome dinner at Maze on Saturday night. We each selected the Chef’s Menu which consisted of 5 courses. 2 of the courses were seafood so mine was substituted starting with the fois gras – it was delicious.

My husband and LP had the lobster bisque. They said it was lovely.

The second course was salad of confit fennel and beetroot, fresh ricotta and candied walnuts – it was really delicious – maybe my favorite course.

Tortellini of beef short rib, escarole, trompette royale and dashi was my third course. It was really delicious.

Sautéed sea scallops, butternut squash and red wine vinaigrette was their third course – it looked really lovely and tasted really good.

Dry aged strip loin (Brandt beef) 8 oz, creamed spinach, pommes anna was the main course. It was lovely – I really enjoyed the pommes anna with the portobello mushroom
Valrhona chocolate fondant with green cardamom caramel, sea salt and almond ice cream or Mango parfait, pine nut brittle and Douglas Fir sorbet were our dessert choices – I got the Mango parfait, along with my husband, and LP got the chocolate fondant. Both were excellent.

This is the mango parfait.

This is the chocolate fondant – it looked amazing!
All 5 courses were really lovely and it was such an experience to eat at a Ramsay restaurant and to try new things!

Sunday night we ate at a pool little Mexican place near my cousins new apartment – the atmosphere was really neat – this is the before dinner drink that Himself got. It had an extra shot in the inside out lime.

Monday morning we went to Starbucks and got some coffees and a tea, for me, and went to Central Park for a walk – this is Himself latte on the bridge in the park.
We made it for the end of Restaurant week in New York and definitely hope to go there next year during restaurant week to try some more cool restaurants and enjoy the city!
