Our Native Roots Opening

(The art featured in this photo is by Karen Hodge Russell and Simon Brascoupe)
Last night was the show opening for Our Native Roots at Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro and I think it was a great success. I was so happy that many of my friends and family came out to the opening. We had some wonderful appetizers to start with door prizes and an auction of art pieces followed by dinner inside the restaurant.

Here are my photos displayed inside the restaurant.

Here is my tree block print framed.

And here are the 4 directions – it’s hard to see from this image but the piece is beaded.

This was my main course from dinner – stuff carrots with lentils – it was really delicious and I enjoyed every bite!

My husband enjoyed a steak with potatoes (and my toy Chief snuck into this photo.)

Here is another yummy entree!

I enjoyed an amazing Cloudberry Crème Brulée w/ Apricot ginger Compote for dessert – I really loved the compote!

This is one of the photos that sold last night (which was really exciting for me) and I thought it would be fun to photograph “the Chief” with his photo.
It was a really special night and I’m so grateful to my family and friends and to Sweetgrass for letting us show there!
Cheers!
