My holga camera has been out of commission as the foam that holds the film inside fell out and jammed up. Today I pulled together the supplies to fix it and finally have a roll of film in to test my fixed holga. I appreciated the help from all the forum members at toycamera.com who made some great suggestions and shared experiences about their own similar holga issues. Hopefully, the test roll turns out as I’m looking to use my camera for a project.

Recently, H asked me to help her with a photography art project.

Here’s the project:
She is reading a poem by ee cummings at the wedding and would like to create an art piece that will go with the poem. My goal is to capture the poem in a photograph and then present it in an artistic way.

So I’ve been out and about trying to find spots that represents an aspect of the poem or a theme. This weekend I plan to get out there and start shooting. I want to shoot in both film and digital.

I really like the Holga because I love using the 120 film and I like the soft edges you get from this toy lens. I think it has potential for some really creative and interesting images that would compliment the poem.

I’ve got a few different ideas for presentation so I’m hoping to have the digital options ready after the long weekend and the film ones next week…I will keep you posted!
