Tonight I finally was well and was able to do the test print of the lino cut – it took me a few tries to get the right amount of paint but I was very happy with the final result…now I will start on what will be the first stage of the printing. Looking forward to gettings these complete for the art auction!

Last night was the show opening for Our Native Roots at Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro and I think it was a great success. I was so happy that many of my friends and family came out to the opening. We had some wonderful appetizers to start with door prizes and an auction of art pieces followed by dinner inside the restaurant.

So this week I started a drawing which I thought would work into a cool block cutting. I drew it out and then transfered the image onto a block. Over the weekend I had plenty of time to carve and managed to finish it. I’m going to do some test prints later today. Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight I finally printed my linocut for the first time. I was very excited to finally have everything and get some prints made. The design is based on a dream I had about birds flying around a tree like they were the leaves. I adapted it for the cut and am very happy with the results. Read the rest of this entry »
