Diana Mini – London Fun!

October 20th, 2009

When I was visiting London I was very excited to have the opportunity to visit the Lomography store – the Fisheye 2, a lomography camera, was my first introduction into the world of functional toy cameras and since then I’ve been a fan and collector of these inexpensive cameras.

Toys! Toys! Toys!

June 10th, 2009

As I’ve mentioned before my love for toy cameras started when I received a fisheye2 from my aunt, Kate Pocock, for Christmas. Since then I have received many toy cameras as gifts and have purchased them for myself.

Most recently, I purchased a BBF (see previous blog) and am now waiting for it to arrive! This morning when I was getting ready for work I was reading another blog, I enjoy but haven’t visited for a while, and read about a new Holga! The Holga TLR & GTLR – a holga with a waist level view finder. It looks really cool – although it is not for sale on the lomography website yet 0 it seems that it has been released in Hong Kong and no surprise is readily available on ebay.

I have 2 holgas in my collection…but could always use a third…

Bronica ETRS Fun!

March 8th, 2009

So today I’ve been experimenting with the Bronica. I’ve not used a medium format camera, like this, for a number of years. I just hope I’m doing it right!
I decided to take some test shots around the house. The photographer I purchased it from kindly loaded it with a roll of film for me just so I could see how it works and I’ve decided not to use the waist-level view finder because the other one has an internal metering system which the previous owner said was quite good.
I found a pdf version of the manual on another website which is great so I printed off a copy and have read through it and I will leave it in the case if I need to refer to it.
I’m hoping to shoot the entire roll today and then get it to the developer pronto! If I get the roll in tomorrow then hopefully it will be back by Friday or the weekend.
That’s it for now – it’s a BEAUTIFUL day in Ottawa – I enjoyed a leisurely stroll with my family and use my little 110 camera which I’m still testing. I thought the light conditions would be perfect because it was so sunny – we will see!
Cheers,
Emily

p.s. I also finished a block I’ve been carving for printmaking – I’m hoping to do a test print. Now I’m doing the second part that goes with it – I will post the tests once I’ve started them. I really want to make my own paper to print on – but that’s for another post!
