So we are planning a trip to the great NYC – I haven’t been since I was 16 and so I’m very excited to go again and see the sights! We have planned a lot of touring including an architectural walk tour.
Here is my dilemma – what cameras do I bring? We are only going for a few days so my original plans included the D-SLR, my Nikon P&S and the BBF-TLR…now, I started talking about it with a friend who started to say that perhaps I should bring the fisheye2 because it takes cool pictures and the results would be interesting to see…

This is a pic I took a few years ago during a scrabble game at Christmas. It was double exposed with a long shutter speed (sans tripod)

Here is a picture of the camera found on the Lomography Society microsite – click the photo to take you there.
So how many cameras are too many? Will I actually want to take all these cameras out with me? Or should I rely on my husband’s D5000 and go crazy with film?? Or forget the TLR and go with the fisheye? Decisions, decisions…oh, live on the wild side – take all 4 and then play it by ear! well…eye…

So this week there will be some product testing taking place. First, though. I was VERY excited when Estelle posted on twitter a link to my blog.
For my husband’s birthday I really wanted to get him an D-SLR that would be a good camera to learn on. After doing a lot of research I decided on the new Nikon D5000. It has manual options but also has some preset and auto options. We took some photos on the weekend but I want to do some tests and see how it works on the auto and preset options – photos to come!
We also a purchased a netbook. I did some research and the acer netbook was highly rated in Consumer Reports. We want to use this computer mostly for web use but also to dump photos onto when we travel – as a back up to the memory cards. I love that it’s really small about 10inches by 7inch and 1inch thick. It’s really light. I don’t find that it’s particularly fast like my mac but I think it will do the trick and Acer provides a lot of software once the computer is registered. It also has a built in webcam so you can use skype or other video services. It also has 160 harddrive and is energy star rated. The battery life is about 2-3 hours depending on use so I plan to purchase a second battery for back up.
This week I will be starting on my mixed media pieces for the art show starting in mid-August so I have a busy few weeks ahead of me!

This weekend I managed to nearly finish the outside beading – now I just need to add a few more beads and then I will start the painting.
